Jesse Wohlman

Jesse Wohlman is a classically trained baritone and self-taught folk musician based in Omaha, Nebraska. He received a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he studied as a graduate teaching assistant and performed leading operatic roles in William Bolcom’s A Wedding, Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann, and the title role in Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Upon graduation, Jesse travelled to Italy where he studied and performed the role of Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff with La Musica Lirica in the summer of 2016. His most recent performances include the Capo delle Guardia in Opera Omaha’s production of Medea, Melchior in Amahl and the Night visitors with Nebraska Opera Project, Albion/Ensemble in Opera Omaha’s world premiere of Stranger from Paradise, and as a concert soloist with the Steamboat Symphony under the baton of Maestro Ernest Richardson. 

As a folk musician Jesse has written and recorded two albums, performed folk music revues, and is credited with composing music for Nebraska Wesleyan University’s productions of Next Fall and Mother Courage and Her Children, while receiving a bachelor of arts in music from said university. In the winter of 2018 he wrote original music for the Rose Theater’s production of Wynken, Blynken, and Nod in which he also performed the role of “the Moon”. Jesse is a core member of the professional vocal ensemble Résonance and is a member of the voice faculty at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.
